The Digital Media Center at Southern Oregon University provides a space where people, tools, and technology blend together to inspire relevant and compelling media for the 21st century.
The center serves both the university and the larger community in Southern Oregon and the Rogue River Valley. The DMC is the workshop for our student filmmakers, video artists, and television content creators.
The DMC empowers our students, our governmental partners and regional enterprises in our community by building and operating a state-of-the-art center for digital media, cinema studies, scholarly research, interdisciplinary teaching and public outreach.
The DMC’s 8500-square-foot facility includes 20 multimedia workstations, a state-of-the-art television production studio with a permanent lighting grid, a digital master control center for playback and archiving of programming, and an equipment room with cameras, lighting and sound equipment available for student check-out.
Did you know that the SOU DMC operates a 4 channel regional cable network available in approximately 50,000 homes in Jackson and Josephine counties? We serve the University and the regional governments of Ashland, Grants Pass, Medford, and Jackson County. We’re known as the Southern Oregon C-SPAN. But it isn’t just government TV; SOU Students and the citizens of our region can submit their work for programming on RVTV Voices.
